Bloody Fantastic

I am possibly one of the last people on the planet to see Susan Boyle's performance on Britains Got Talent. While on dial-up at home, I saw her picture and read bits about what a tremendous voice she has. I just now saw the YouTube video and like everyone else, I am gobsmacked. That woman has a set of pipes on her that just don't end. And very possibly more self confidence than I will ever possess. She is not interested in a "make-over." Says this is who I am - like it or not. She has charm and charisma and a very confident stage presence. And while the embed feature has been disabled, if you go to this link, you will be able to see the video. What a woman!

In New Hampshire

Off right now working at the Machine Quilting Expo in Manchester, NH. Weather is wonderful (the brief bit that I'm outside!) and everyone seems interested in our products. Now if we can get some more people through the door and have money they are willing to part with, all will be well!

It's not all knitting around here!

I've been working (in brief spurts!) on a sample for the booth. At a show earlier this year, the designer was in the booth next to me and I bought some patterns from her. Of course, patterns sell much better if there is a sample. All of the snowmen have either birds or birdhouses on their heads. They are really cute. I think I'm on the fourth one now, but this is the only one I have a photo of right now!

Dragonfly socks are the best!

I have got to post a thank you to the designer of the Dragonfly sock pattern! I don't have any of the info with me right now, and I'm trying to type/post as fast as I can. But these socks are fantastic! No pooling, no flashing, no weird stuff. Just great stripy goodness!

Even the short row heel didn't cause any issues:

Having trouble with a yarn? You have got to try this pattern! Never mind - I can take the few moments it takes to find the link. Here ya go!

Patience Pays Off!

My Embrace the Lace package arrived Monday - and I'm glad I waited! Look at the wonderful goodies Jenn of Wool Girl fame included:

Besides the neat pattern, that is two skeins of Malabrigo laceweight, a stitch marker made specifically for the kit, a key chain, note pads, and a small tin to hold the year's stitch markers that currently has a couple of mints and chocolates. Notice the large piece of plastic that everything is sitting on? Well...that my friends is a large vinyl zipper tote for the projects throughout the year! I have several things I want to finish before I dive into the package, but I can't wait!
